Welcome back the light with our Winter Solstice open circle.
Join Roxie Zwicker for an enchanted Yule ritual at the historic South Meetinghouse. Yule is deeply rooted in the cycle of the year, it is the seed time of year, the longest night and the shortest day, where the Goddess once again becomes the Great Mother and gives birth to the new Sun King. In a poetic sense it is on this the longest night of the winter, ‘the dark night of our souls’, that there springs the new spark of hope, the Sacred Fire, the Light of the World.
This circle which celebrates the Winter Solstice as it approaches Yule, can be a profound way to tune into the magic and beauty of the season. For people throughout the ages—from the ancient Egyptians and Celts to the Hopi—midwinter has been a significant time of ritual, reflection, and renewal. Join us as we cultivate a deeper connection to nature and family and all the things that matter most to us. Winter can become a time of feeding the spirit and nurturing the soul, not just emptying our bank account and fraying our nerves. If there is anything that you’ve been hoping to release, this circle encourages and guides you to leave it in the dark as you step towards the light.
Ritual will begin with a music circle, so bring an instrument if you are inclined. (Some will be available for use.). Welcome back the light and the sun into your life, with a powerful meditation and rite. Discover the real magick of the season and take home a specially created solstice item for use in your home through the turning of the wheel of the year.
Guests are invited to bring one sacred item to be placed on the altar to be blessed. Space is limited.
